When I set the group up 3 years ago, i had the money and means to do this, although I also imagined I'd be able to nail a few hundred planks of wood together and that'd be it, however to do the job properly requires much more than this, as is explained on the site. Since moving to New Zealand I no longer have the money or means, thats what the site is about. Don't donate if you don't want to, at worst charity benefits.
No, I have always stated on the facebook page "Proceeds from the shop will probably be spent on grog". This means that if i get a million dollars in shop purchases, then of course its going towards the pirate ship, otherwise i'll use it to make my life better somehow. So it's up to you, if you want to support the cause (charity or the pirateship) then donate. If you've had a laugh and think I'm crazy but think the world would be a boring place without more crazy pirates running round then buy something from the shop, and it goes to me.
